AltaMed offers a wide variety of health care services, and this includes vision services. They offer services that are managed by Medi-Cal to those who are enrolled.

Their PACE program, or Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is geared toward senior citizens, but members of all ages can sign up for AltaMed. Rather than offering vision insurance, AltaMed offers actual services, working in tangent with other insurance companies and their health plans.

AltaMed has various clinics that offer on-site vision services. Additionally, AltaMed offers great advice on keeping your vision healthy on their official blog.

Which Insurance Plans Are Accepted?

AltaMed doesn’t offer insurance; it offers vision services. They partner with other insurance companies and accept their health plans. In fact, most major health plans are accepted into their network.

If you need vision insurance coverage, they can help enroll you in a plan that is right for you.

You will need the following information for each person being enrolled:

  • Two current pay stubs, the previous year’s federal income tax return, or some other proof of income (not applicable to children, just to parents or guardians)
  • Proof of residence
  • Proof of identity, such as a birth certificate, naturalization certificate, passport, or work permit
  • Photo ID
  • Social Security card
  • Proof of pregnancy (if applicable)

AltaMed accepts a wide range of insurance plans. You can see their full listings on the AltaMed Health Plans Accepted page.
