Dr. Stephen A. LoBue is a distinguished high volume cataract, refractive, interventional glaucoma, and clinical researcher. Dr. LoBue completed his residency at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, NY, where he served as chief resident and was recognized for his bravery during the COVID-19 pandemic. He subsequently completed a high-volume fellowship at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport Louisiana where he performed 4,000 procedures (top 1% of all programs) involving advanced cataract, refractive, glaucoma, and floater removal treatments. Currently, Dr. LoBue has performed over 15,000+ procedures, developing and publishing numerous techniques in cataract and refractive surgery.

Dr. LoBue is the director of Research at several institutions including LoBue Laser and Eye Medical Center, Willis-Knighton Department of Ophthalmology, and Glaive Medical Optics. He has completed over 30 clinical trials, published 110+ articles, and is an expert involving optimizing visual performance and patient satisfaction with a variety of premium intraocular lenses and laser vision techniques. He is also leading the development of a new electronic intraocular lens to treat central blindness from macular degeneration.
