Dr. Huy Ly is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of cataracts and glaucoma. In addition to performing the latest cutting-edge cataract techniques, he is also an expert in minimally invasive techniques for treating glaucoma, including laser trabeculoplasty, goniotomy, micropulse diode cyclophotocoagulation, and various minimally invasive stent devices.

Dr. Ly earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin before attending medical school at Texas Tech HSC El Paso, where he was part of the institution’s pioneering class. He graduated at the top of his class and was inducted into the prestigious national medical society, Alpha Omega Alpha. He then completed his internship at Harbor-UCLA, followed by residency training at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals in Cleveland. He further enhanced his skills by completing a fellowship at the University of California Irvine Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, where he focused on advanced cataract and glaucoma surgeries.
In addition to his medical accomplishments, Dr. Ly is committed to mentoring aspiring physicians, through his role as an Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Irvine. He is also fluent in Vietnamese. When he is not advancing his medical career, he enjoys savoring the diverse cuisines of Southern California, chasing perfection on the golf course, and playing hide-and-seek with his toddler son, Logan.
