Angelique Pillar, MD has performed thousands of cataract, cornea, and laser vision correction procedures, with particular expertise in advanced surgical technologies. Her practice includes laser-assisted cataract surgery, LASIK, PRK, implantable collamer lens surgery (Visian EVO ICL), and corneal transplantation using advanced techniques such as DALK, DSEK, and DMEK.
She offers state-of-the-art cataract surgery with a full range of advanced intraocular lenses, including toric astigmatism and presbyopia-correcting options (multifocal and extended depth-of-focus), as well as the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens (LAL), which allows for postoperative customization of visual outcomes.

Dr. Pillar also has extensive experience in glaucoma management, including laser procedures such as selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI), as well as microinvasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Her MIGS repertoire includes procedures utilizing the OMNI Surgical System, the Glaukos iDose TR, and the iStent Trabecular Micro-Bypass, enabling a comprehensive approach to both vision correction and intraocular pressure control.
Known for her clarity as an educator and her thoughtful, patient-centered approach, Dr. Pillar takes pride in carefully listening to her patients and guiding them through their diagnosis and treatment options.
Raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Pillar earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland, where she was selected as Chief Resident and named Outstanding Resident, followed by a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. She later served on the faculty at the University of Maryland as a Clinical Assistant Professor. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University.
