Dr. Emily Schorr is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, refractive, and corneal surgery. She moved to Las Vegas in 2018 from New York City after marrying her husband, a Las Vegas native.
Dr. Schorr earned her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 2010. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine and went on to pursue a fellowship in cataract and refractive surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Following fellowship, she joined the faculty at Mount Sinai as an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology, where she mentored fellows and residents.
Since relocating to Nevada, Dr. Schorr has practiced refractive and cataract surgery in Las Vegas, and served as a faculty member at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She helped develop a clinical rotation to introduce medical students to ophthalmology and has delivered annual lectures to support early exposure to the specialty. She is a founding board member of the Eye Institute of Nevada, which has partnered with UNLV to develop an eye hospital and teaching program in Las Vegas.
Dr. Schorr has authored numerous peer-reviewed studies and presented her research at national conferences. She was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Nevada Academy of Ophthalmology in 2020 and has been recognized as a Las Vegas “Top Doctor” in numerous publications, and was selected as a Las Vegas Inc. “40 Under 40” honoree. She served as a trustee for the Nevada Museum of Art and as a council member for Jewish Nevada since 2019.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Schorr enjoys life with her husband, their three children, and two miniature poodles. Her favorite hobbies include hiking, skiing, and playing pickleball.
