Dr. Porter received her Bachelor of Science in 1990 from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with a degree in Nursing. Dr. Porter worked as a registered nurse and a clinical research assistant before returning to school to receive her Doctor of Medicine in 1997 from the University of Iowa College of Medicine.
She then went on to complete her internship at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1998, followed by her residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Washington College of Medicine. Dr. Porter is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their sons, running, and many other outdoor sports, making Washington a perfect place for them to settle. Dr. Porter has 20 years of experience specializing in cataract surgery and eyelid surgery.
