NVISION Eye CenterJon-Marc Weston, M.D.
Following his education, Dr. Weston taught for six years and did research in areas related to lens implants for cataract surgery and laser applications.
In 2001, Dr. Weston founded Vision Surgery & Laser Center and the Oregon Laser Eye Center (OLEC). He introduced the now-standard “No Needle, No Stitch” cataract procedure to Southern Oregon. At OLEC, he performed the first laser vision correction procedures and as medical director, taught this technique to many other surgeons in our region. He was the first in the Pacific Northwest to use the endoscopic laser for glaucoma and multi-focal lens implants, and to offer the option of dropless cataract surgery with the femtosecond laser.
Dr. Weston is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is one of the few cataract surgeons certified by the American Board of Eye Surgeons in the Pacific Northwest and the only one in Douglas County. He is also the past president of the Douglas County Medical Society and has received the Helen Keller Benefactors award and Melvin Jones Fellowship as part of his efforts to restore vision through Lions Club International.
In his free time, Dr. Weston enjoys bike rides with his family.
